I have updated the list of the countries with the
most
members
without a temple (planned or dedicated) using year-end 2025 membership totals. Temples
that service stakes, districts, and mission branches in each country are
identified. Statistics for the number of stakes, districts, and congregations are current. Previous lists are also available for April 2025, April 2024, May 2023, April 2022, March 2022, November 2020, April 2020, April 2019, October 2018, April 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2013, mid-2011, late 2008, and late 2007. Countries in Italics
do not have a
stake. Tanzania has since ascended to the list to replace Belize and is the country on the list with the most congregations without a temple. Benin is the
country on the list with the most recent Church establishment (first
branch in 2005). Countries that may
ascend to this list in the coming months and years include (in order of probability) Botswana, Rwanda, Cameroon, Armenia, Trinidad and Tobago, Albania, Romania, the Czech Republic, and Ethiopia.

Every Temple announced by President Oaks was in the US. Sample size 2.
It’s interesting Guyana has 12 branches but no stakes
My inclination is to think we will see temples announced outside the US very soon. Togo and Benin are the two countries that seem the strongest candidates for a First temple announced soon.
Bulawayo, Zimbabwe is another very strong candidate. I think there are others.
Hey, Matt! Thanks for this great report. I had a few questions about it:
1. Under the entry for Malaysia, you note that the Singapore Republic of Singapore Temple is announced. Did you know that its name has been simplified to the Singapore Temple, which is now under construction?
2. In a few spots, you make reference to the Accra Ghana Temple, but under the entry for Togo, you call it the "Ghana Accra Temple". Was that unintentional?
3. Under Malawi, you list the Harare Zimbabwe Temple as the operating temple under which Malawi falls, but under Zambia, you list the Johannesburg South Africa Temple as the closest operating temple, with the Harare Zimbabwe Temple "under construction". Does Malawi now fall under the operational Harare Zimbabwe Temple?
I mean no offense by these questions, and Ihope none is taken.
Also, under #7 (Marshall Islands) you note that the Suva Fiji Temple is the closest to it now, but that the Tarawa Kiribati Temple is announced. Were you aware that that temple is also under construction now? Again, I mean no offense, and I hope none is taken.
