Pleasanton, California where my grandparents lived for many years just saw one of its 3 wards discontinued. Also a ward in the San Fernando Valley was discontinued. On the other hand it appears in metro San Diego when they wiped out 2 stakes only 1 branch and 1 ward were discontinued.

Some of the discontinued branches in the Tokyo Japan area have been reclassified as "groups" under a stewardship of another ward or branch. This at least gives the framework for these groups to grow back into branches once again.

The church just organized a Swahili speaking branch in Albaquerque. There was already one in Salt Lake City.

There's an interesting pattern in US/Canada growth of wards and branches so far in 2021, with increases in every US/Canada Church area except North America West, which lost 19. Meanwhile, North America Southwest gained 19, North America Southeast up 14, North America Central up 11, and North America Northeast up 5. The Utah Area has gained 36 (33 wards and 3 branches), with the net growth in US/Canada at 66 for the first half of the year (through July 10,2021).

Correction: The 2021 net growth in the US and Canada was 68 through July 10, because the North America Northeast had an increase of 7 wards and branches, not 5.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Yorba Linda temple end up with two baptistries given its proximity to so many stakes. I could also see the Mesa/Phoenix AZ area eventually having a temple with two baptistries for the same reason.

I am surprised that two baptisteries didn't go into the Mesa temple refurbishment unless the idea postdated its refurbishment start.
