It is very sad that this number is not real, since on average 75% of these people are not active, many of them have never been, just got baptized and never went to church again.

This goes to show how much potential there is in Brazil still. They are not even in the 1% club or anywhere near.

On a different note, we are home in Germany for the month and were able to attend a baptism. It was the first time I have attended a baptism where the person performing the ordinance and the two speakers were all recent converts. It's definitely good to see some progress here and that was a neat little side note.

The Dakar Senegal District is now one step closer to becoming a stake. The 4th branch was recently organized as the "Ouakam Branch - 2203685".

Also, the Umuahia Nigeria South Stake has 12 units (Wards/Branches), with the recently organized "Afugiri Branch - 2201445". I wonder how close it is to split again?

Some South American countries are growing in more solid ways than others. Brazil, by far, shows the most real growth based on stake and temple growth. Chile seemed to be exploding for so long, but the downturn in real growth occurred in the early 2000s. I saw it from 1990 to 2005, and many people were not equipped to follow on with their baptismal commitments. I still think part of the sheer numbers will continue to grow there.

Hopefully more Haitians and Venezuelans in Chile will be a long term win for the Church for all involved. Increased diversity may be the key to Chile as a spiritually vibrant place.

Peru continues strong, it is good to see.

Overall, South America is very robust and dynamic. Great to see, thanks for the post.

When you look at how many members are in Uruguay it does make more sense for them to have a 2nd temple, assuming enough of them are actively participating. Distance is not a big factor, of course.
