Military District In Afghanistan

According to the LDS Church News, a district of the Church was created in July of 2008 to administer to members of the Church serving in the military in Afghanistan. The Afghanistan Military District comprises four branches and several groups for the 400 some members of the Church in the country. Afghanistan is a part of the Middle East Africa North Area, which was created last year.

The Church does not proselyte in Afghanistan, but does have a few members of the Church who are native Afghans in the country. Afghans have been baptized in countries near Afghanistan which have proselyting missionaries after approval from the mission president in the area.
