The Star Valley Wyoming Temple is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) in Star Valley, Wyoming. Star Valley is in Lincoln County, which has the highest percentage of Latter-day Saints in Wyoming. The temple was opened in 2016.
Looking at 1930 Washington stats: There were only 1855 members in the state? I find that absolutely amazing the growth that this state has had. How many temples now?
Cardston or Mesa probably had 5 times those numbers in 1910 or 1920...
There's 4 temples in Washington now; with 3 dedicated in Seattle, Spokane, and Columbia River (Richland) and one announced in Moses Lake. I spoke to a stake president in Spokane recently and he says that many church members from Idaho and Utah are moving to Eastern Washington. He even quipped, "We need another temple over here!" Im glad Washington has experienced such positive growth.
Unknown, regarding the open house and dedication arrangements for the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple, the projection for when Brazil as a whole or its' lower-risk states will hit the peak for COVID-19 keeps getting pushed back. 3 months ago, the peak was anticipated in May. Now that peak is only anticipated in July, at earliest. Part of the problem from what I've read and heard is that the Brazilian government is not taking sufficient precautions or handling the situation very competently. As a result, in the coming weeks, that peak could be pushed back again at least a few more times. Based on a few sources from a cursory internet search I did recently, the earliest that any part of Brazil is anticipated to move back towards normalcy is the latter part of this year (October-December).
Some parts of the United States are still staggering and having to backtrack as a result of COVID-19, which is probably why the Church postponed the opening dates for the Washington DC Temple. With that temple's opening anticipated to be delayed into the early part of 2021 (sometime after the January 20, 2021 inauguration ceremony for the US President), my personal research appears to indicate that the dedication of the Rio de Janeiro Brazil temple could possibly be delayed into early-to-mid 2021, and that's on the assumption that Brazil will reach its' currently-projected peak. If that peak date is pushed back again once, twice, or more, then further delays could be likely.
For dedications or rededications where the open house is anticipated to attract higher numbers (Rio de Janeiro, Washington DC, Tokyo Japan, Mesa Arizona, etc.) it would make sense if the opening dates were deferred until larger gatherings are verified to be safe beyond any reasonable doubt. Meanwhile, for smaller temples, especially new ones (Winnipeg, Yigo, Praia, San Juan), there is less of a need for large gatherings, making it more feasible for the Church to move forward with those plans.
Of course, that's just my own assessment on this question based on what I have read in or heard from a few sources available to me. Anyone is welcome to take or leave that opinion as they may prefer to do so. But it wouldn't shock me if it is only after the October General Conference that opening dates are announced for any of the four larger temples I previously mentioned, and if most of those, if not all four, had their opening dates delayed until early 2021, or even the middle months thereof.
Hope these observations, such as they are, are helpful to all who read them.
As someone whose assigned Temple used to be Spokane, I'm glad to hear that area is growing, even if it's just from transplants. It'd be nice to see the mini Spokane Temple updated like they've done with Memphis and others, or even expanded further than those have been.
Hey, Bryan! Thanks for corroborating the theory I shared above (namely that the dedication of the Rio de Janeiro Brazil Temple will be delayed for a longer period of time than just a few months. An article published earlier today notes that the current estimated peak for Brazil is July 6:
And if that's the peak date, conditions may not stablize, let alone normalize, prior to the end of this year in that nation. So the dedication might be deferred until the early months of next year, which would particularly be the case if the peak date is pushed back again twice or even just once more.
It is amazing to me that Joseph visited West Virginia (which would have been Virginia then) in 1832 and sent missionaries two years later and those missionaries baptized 40 people. We live at the top of Virginia with the West Virginia Panhandle to the north of us and West Virginia to the West of us, We have members in our stake who 3 generation members all who were born and raised in West Virginia. There are little chapels still standing in the hills and hollows of West Virginia that were built by early converts. I found similar circumstances when I served my mission in western North Carolina in the 70's.

The Washingron DC temple open house and rededication have been indefinitely postponed. The former was to have begun Sep 24.
Did they have the open house for the Rio de Janairo Temple?
No dedication/open house dates have been set for the Rio temple yet. My guess is that they'll have them in a few months.

I don't think Rio gets dedicated quickly. They are rising in COVID cases faster than the USA, and they will cross the million mark tomorrow.

What I was unsure of was if Rio had an open house and just delayed the dedicarmrion or if both open house and dedication were delayed.
Another thing to consider is it really is not that helpful to dedicate temples until reopening goes to phase 2 of at least live endowments.
Also I am thinking training new temple workers may be hard under these circumstances.
I keep a watch but it does not appear any temple has moved beyond phase 1 reopening.
