  6. Is the expected additional growth one reason no stakes have been consolidated this year?

  7. May Church growth:

    + 14 W&B; + 11 W, + 3 Br, + 5 stakes, - 1 dist.

    US: + 2 W&B; + 3 W. - 1 Br. + 1 stake, + 0 dist.
(Note: consolidation of 10 YSA W in UtSouth Area in Mid-month led to this month's slow growth in US)

    Outside US: + 12 W&B; + 8 W + 4 Br + 4 stakes, - 1 dist

  8. 10 YSA Wards in Provo were consolidated largely because of the new missions and a proportional reduction in students at BYU.

A YSA Ward will have perhaps 200 members, while many of the missions will have about 250 missionaries. So, each mission is similar to and possibly larger than a YSA ward.

  10. The Minahasa, the main ethnic group of Manado, the only city in Sulewesi with a branch at present, have a long history of close connection with the Dutch. Some Minahasa tried to get North Sulewesi made a province of the Netherlands in the late 1940s instead of becoming part of indepdent Indonesia. There are also many Minahasa people in the Netherlands. I was wondering if there has been any outreach by the Church among the Indonesian population in the Netherlands.

  11. Actually the discontinuance of YSA wards in Provo was entirely the result of turning what had been BYU student housing into MTC. It is too soon to say whether this is a permanent reduction or if new wards will be created in the fall. With lower enrollment over the summer it really would not have made sense to form new ward at the start of the summer.
