Did the Church ever release 2020 end of the year statistics for individual countries and states - if they did I must have missed. it - is there a source for this info. If they did not release the numbers - is this a COVID thing or is the church keeping these numbers out of the public eye?

Thanks Christopher - I will cover these in the next post I make.

The official numbers for each country in any given year are not officially released or made available to the public until after each April General Conference in the following year, at which time the Church-wide year-end statistics are first made available. Given the protocol for Church units to compile and send that information in to Church headquarters, it takes the Church the first quarter of each year to total and prepare that data. The delay in the release thereof allows both accuracy and sufficient transparency to be properly ensured. So that delay will always be well worth the wait, IMHO.

Thanks for the analysis! In addition to the milestones listed under the language section, there are several other scripture translations that made significant progress:
• Doctrine and Covenants in Greek (Title Page to Section 62)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Guarani (Title Page to Section 19)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Hindi (Title Page to Section 88)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Sinhala (Title Page to Section 62)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Tamil (Title Page to Section 9)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Telegu (Title Page to Section 9)
• Doctrine and Covenants in Urdu (Title Page to Section 123)
• Triple Combination in American Sign Language
• Triple Combination in Setswana

Additionally, Joseph Smith-History has been added to the Pearl of Great Price in the Sinhala, Tamil, and Telegu languages.

Note that the Church has not yet officially announced the completion of the Burmese Book of Mormon and the ASL, Hilgaynon, Setswana, and Twi Triple Combinations.

I wonder if the increased number of units in the US are part of a trend to make smaller wards. In my area some wards now look like branches afterwards, leaving fewer people to staff and serve. It’s not progress, at least in my stake.

It's fascinating to see these trends analyzed. Many parts of the world has little or no exposure to the Restoration of the Gospel.
Some parts, in particular countries are doing great, buut a few places are retracting. Keep it up.

I my area in the US more wards have been created within a single stake. It may have been done as a hope further growth and baptism conversions. IMHO it has led to smaller struggling wards with the few active members being overburdened.

The creation of new units in my Texas stake has led to more watered down wards with fewer active members to staff positions. I don’t see it being a positive step since it occurred several years ago.

I'm having trouble locating a source that says the North Pole Alaska stake was created.... I've checked CDOL, classic maps and FullerConsideration. None seem to have it. Does anyone else have any clue? Thanks.

You are correct even here in Utah the wards are so small and we have lots of non members and less active and attence.

Sorry, Unknown, I didn't bother answering your question because I assumed five other people already had and our comments would all show up at once. Elder Gong mentioned the new stake in his devotional a couple Sundays ago and that's the only source I know of.

It looks like North Pole, AK is the next town southeast of Fairbanks. That stake had 10 wards, so we would just be waiting to see the specifics of the stake creation.
