Author Request - Encyclopedia of Latin American Religions

David Stewart and I have been tasked as section editors for the upcoming Encyclopedia of Latin American Religions. We are looking for qualified authors who have expertise in regards to Latter-day Saint, Seventh-Day Adventist, and/or Jehovah's Witness history, growth, and current issues within individual countries in Latin America. All entries will be attributed to authors although no remuneration would be provided. Please email me at Matt.Martinich@gmail.com if you are interested in helping with this project.

Jason Dormady is an expert on Mexican Mormonism. I think he teaches at a University in Texas but I can't recall which one.

Ok just googled it and he might now be teaching at eastern Washington university.

Best of luck with this, God bless. I did a paper for a UCLA professor about Church growth in Chile and Brazil. After hearing my presentation he remarked that it would be valuable to know about others like SDAs and JWs. True. (2001).
I know that in Chile Assemblies of God and some other Pentecostal/Evangelical movements have had a big impact on this historically Catholic nation.
I also think that LDS outreach to native Mapuches and other indigenous (perhaps Aymara up north) has been pretty small. That said, the non-European population in Chile is not formidable.
The professor at UCLA is Stephen Bell. He did not encourage much further investigation, but as a historical economic geographer he was more interested by coffee than religion. Sociologists at UCLA were more interested in demographic studies, too.
